For decades, the Louis L. Valentine Club has served as a second home for several young members who grew up  in Bridgeport and the surrounding South Side communities.  That is why, on Thanksgiving Eve, November 23, more than 1,000  community members and their families returned to the Club to gather, reunite, celebrate and give thanks.

Thanks to the generosity of local sponsors, board members, staff and volunteer, the Valentine Club served 1,200 delicious meals at its annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

"This annual event is a time where we invite our community to the Club to thank them for their support," said Club Director Erin Rochford.

"The event is a great community-building event for our young people that also demonstrates the importance of service to others," Rochford said.
